What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Success Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
You believe the greatest gift you can offer a student is holding them to a standard that refuses to bend. You have competed, created, or excelled at a level few ever experience firsthand: elite-level athletics, graduation with honors from a top-ranked university, placement at a highly competitive firm, or a company you launched and grew independently. Now imagine channeling that rigor into a setting with K-12 students who have never encountered someone with credentials like yours—someone willing to push them toward benchmarks they never imagined achieving. If the idea of maintaining elite expectations feels too demanding, this is not the role for you.
Alpha leverages AI-driven 1-on-1 instruction to enable students to complete core academics in roughly two hours each day. The time saved is dedicated to life skills, passion projects, and meaningful personal development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor whose own track record defines excellence: someone capable of assessing dynamics, establishing culture, and guiding them through resistance, lack of focus, and uncertainty.
Your role is not instructional. AI delivers the academic material. Your responsibility is to inspire, coach, and uphold the same exacting standards you have applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent in direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching, identifying obstacles and setting high-impact goals. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent is devoted to leading focused morning sessions that create a campus culture where mediocrity has no place.
The trajectory here emphasizes depth over advancement. You begin by mastering Alpha's methodology and earning the trust of students. Within months, you become the person they rely on to challenge them beyond perceived limits. The return is not a title change. It is continuity: the same students, year over year, maturing with your guidance. It is witnessing a student who avoided eye contact in September confidently address a room of adults by May.
This position remains student-centered. Students are the purpose, not a platform for career progression. If your motivation to leave your current role is driven by mission rather than resume enhancement, submit your application now.

What You Will Be Doing
- Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify barriers, establish ambitious objectives, and ensure accountability for execution

- Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and families by maintaining high standards, consistency, and documented motivation strategies
