Technical Services Specialist (Power Generation Equipment)
Location: San Antonio (TX)
Job Type: Full-Time
Travel: Up to 30%
Salary: Up to $150,000
About the Role
We’re supporting a client who is looking for a Technical Services Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams supporting our aftermarket power generation equipment. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role where technical expertise meets customer service excellence.
You’ll work closely with field service technicians, engineering, and customers to troubleshoot issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure our equipment performs at the highest level.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and internal teams regarding service and repair of equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with customers and field technicians
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide timely, accurate solutions
- Coordinate service needs across departments to ensure seamless customer support
- Assist with product discrepancies, repairs, and service recommendations
- Develop repair quotations and collaborate with product management
- Maintain and distribute technical documentation (manuals, bulletins, etc.)
- Support development of technical training materials and customer guides
- Communicate field feedback to improve product quality and customer satisfaction
- Liaise between engineering, sales, and customers on technical issues
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- 4–10 years of relevant experience in a technical support or service role
- Experience in oilfield or power generation equipment strongly preferred
- Experience in Data Center settings is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work independently
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and shop environment (non-climate-controlled at times)
- Frequent standing, walking, and handling equipment
- Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) and physical activity as required
