Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Kitchen Manager to oversee our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. As the Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining inventory control. This role is essential in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. We plan on opening the new restaurant in mid June to Early July so you will be in the ground floor of creating the operations of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and presentation meet our standards.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion control.
- Maintain inventory control by tracking supplies, ordering stock as needed, and minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections of the kitchen area.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
- Develop menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences while adhering to budget constraints.
- Handle cash management responsibilities accurately during service periods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or catering environment; hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen management practices.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and procedures.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Experience in interviewing potential candidates for kitchen positions is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bartending experience is an advantage but not required for this role.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential for success in this position.
