LIPA is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise AI solutions that support innovation across utility and business operations. This role will focus on Microsoft Azure AI, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure OpenAI Service.
Senior AI Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and implement generative AI, agentic AI, predictive analytics, and machine learning solutions using Azure AI Foundry, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and responsible AI governance.
- Build end-to-end data and AI pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, OneLake, Real-Time Analytics, and AWS Redshift.
- Develop and extend Microsoft 365 Copilot and custom Copilot agents using Copilot Studio, Graph connectors, plugins, and Teams extensions.
- Integrate Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure AI Document Intelligence into business applications and intranet experiences.
- Architect semantic models, lakehouses, and data warehouses to support scalable AI workloads and analytics.
- Implement MLOps/LLMOps practices for deployment, monitoring, evaluation, versioning, and CI/CD using Azure Machine Learning and Azure DevOps.
- Partner with stakeholders to define AI use cases, success metrics, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions.
- Provide technical documentation, architecture diagrams, knowledge transfer, and project status updates.
- 8 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI/ML solution development in enterprise environments.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio.
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Real-Time Intelligence.
- Strong proficiency in Python, C#, or TypeScript for AI application development and API integration.
- Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, prompt orchestration, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, and Azure security best practices.
- Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and enterprise AI process automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft certifications such as AI-102, DP-600, PL-300, or AI-900.
