Network Equipment Engineer

Position: Network Equipment Engineer (DBA & Reporting)

Our team is seeking a detail-oriented Network Equipment Engineer (DBA & Reporting) to support location-specific engineering, database administration, and reporting initiatives. This role blends hands-on network infrastructure engineering with database management and business intelligence development to ensure operational excellence and data accuracy.

Network Equipment Engineer Responsibilities

• Perform detailed, location-specific equipment engineering, including full specification development for installation, turn-up, inventory, and configuration
• Obtain management approvals, issue purchase orders, and ensure vendor delivery timelines are met
• Engineer floor space, rack space, hardware placement, cable measurements, and power/fuse/breaker assignments
• Design equipment cooling and airflow solutions to maintain operational efficiency
• Ensure all work complies with engineering, financial, planning, operational, and NA standards
• Manage and update IFP, XNG, and SPM systems to reflect builds, adds, and decommissions
• Document network elements (technical facilities, bays/shelves, alarm points, identifiers, labels)
• Create workflows within required systems to streamline processes
• Communicate issues to lead engineers and collaborate with regional teams to resolve them
• Recommend process improvements with potential national impact
• Serve as an experienced Database Administrator (DBA), maintaining and optimizing organizational databases
• Develop automated reports using Tableau and Google Apps (Docs, Forms)
• Customize Google Docs interfaces with menus, dialog boxes, and sidebars to improve usability
  
  

Network Equipment Engineer Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Network Equipment Engineer, Network Engineer, or Database Administrator (DBA)
• Strong background in equipment engineering, telecom/network infrastructure, or technical facility design
• Hands-on experience with IFP, XNG, SPM, or similar network inventory systems
• Advanced knowledge of Google Apps scripting and automation
• Experience building dashboards and automated reports in Tableau
• Understanding of power distribution, rack layout, airflow engineering, and cable management
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting large-scale network deployments or national engineering initiatives
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools and process optimization methodologies
• Strong cross-functional communication and documentation skills
