- Working Model: Hybrid - Flexible to needs of business. Some weeks we may need to do site visits etc and they will need to be in everyday. At other weeks it will be less. In general, 3 Days/week but the schedule will likely vary.
- Location: This is a hybrid position that can report to any major Telecommunication office. Strong preference for candidates located near Ashburn, VA, or Basking Ridge, NJ.
The Network Facilities and Optimization Decom (NFOD) PMO is looking for Network Project Managers to drive the implementation of our comprehensive VZT Facility Decommission process. This critical role orchestrates the strategic consolidation, relocation, and decommissioning of non-directional buildings and associated leases to achieve significant footprint and cost reductions. You will lead process creation and continuous improvement initiatives, with the primary goal of enhancing SLAs for facility exits from a project and program management perspective.
Targeted Experience: 5–7 years of project management experience.
Responsibilities:
- Process Development & Architecture: Lead the execution of an end-to-end Facility Decom Process. This includes monitoring and reporting on programs, driving process improvements, and ensuring seamless execution workflows across cross-functional teams.
- Data & Advanced Analytics: Leverage advanced analytics to track progress using detailed optical and TDM circuit utilization, third-party lease evaluations, and energy consumption metrics. This will primarily focus on VZT while seamlessly incorporating Telecommunication and Product networks.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders to ensure successful MSP adoption. The ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams is paramount to success in this role.
- A deep understanding of Telecommunication networks at the device, circuit, and transport levels.
- Working knowledge of network and customer circuit hierarchy and design.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex concepts to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- The ability to develop long-term plans that align network and real estate objectives with broader business goals.
- Experience with source systems including, but not limited to, TIRKS, NAR, Canvas, Smartsheets and IVAPP.
- Previous experience working on circuit, equipment, or office decommissioning and decom modeling.
- AI toolset...Claude, Gemini, and/or other automation/efficiency background or tool knowledge.
- Data mining and modeling experience utilizing NAR.
- An advanced degree in Program/Project Management, Leadership, or Telecommunications.
- Experience in legacy transport migration planning.
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant industry experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of work, military experience, or specialized training.
