Our organization is seeking an experienced IT Policy & Process Improvement Consultant to strengthen IT governance, operational processes, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will partner with IT leadership and Executive Offices to develop policies, improve business processes, manage risk, and deliver effective internal communications.
IT Policy & Process Improvement Consultant Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, review, and enforce IT policies, procedures, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Evaluate existing policies and procedures and recommend revisions, replacement, or retirement where appropriate.
- Identify new controls and procedures needed to evaluate, mitigate, and manage business risk.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and document key process requirements.
- Perform business process modeling and process mapping using Microsoft Visio.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, Lean, 5S, value stream mapping, waste elimination, root-cause analysis, flow, and error proofing.
- Develop IT communication programs and measure their effectiveness.
- Coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
IT Policy & Process Improvement Consultant Qualifications Required
- Significant experience with business process modeling, process management, and MS Visio.
- Expert knowledge of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading Kaizen/CI events or process improvement teams.
- Experience developing SOPs and producing clear process documentation.
- Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing assignments, and meet deadlines.
IT Policy & Process Improvement Consultant Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification from an accredited institution or training provider.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Microsoft Project 2010 .
- Knowledge of public mass transit assets and operations.
