What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist position at CrossConnect Talent?
The Staff Environmental Specialist will perform environmental compliance activities, including analyzing environmental data for various types of projects and compliance reports conducting routine visual inspections of operating equipment at a manufacturing facility, and preparing compliance reports to address permit requirements.
-Conduct field surveys, assessments and collect operations-related data for development of reports to demonstrate compliance with permit requirements.
- Prepare environmental reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.
- Collect data for analysis, and calculation of air emissions.
- Perform environmental site investigations, support erosion control efforts and subsurface soil sampling.
- Conduct routine inspections and/or measurements of facility and operational equipment and log observations.
-Support the preparation of permit applications potentially covering air and water related operations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to support the successful completion of required testing and measurement programs.
- Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related natural science or engineering degree from an accredited program and 3 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects
- OR master’s degree in environmental science or a related natural science or engineering degree from an accredited program and 2 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental compliance programs and compliance audit.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the environmental permitting process.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
