Work Environment

The successful Physical Therapist will work onsite directly within patient homes, conducting therapy sessions in a comfortable and familiar environment. This role requires flexibility, as therapists will travel to various locations within Virginia Beach to deliver personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients recovering from injury, surgery, or chronic conditions in their homes.
  • Develop targeted treatment plans based on patient evaluations, incorporating methods such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.
  • Implement individualized treatment strategies to help patients achieve their therapeutic goals, optimizing their functional abilities.
  • Document patient progress meticulously, tracking treatment responses and modifying plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and family members on effective rehabilitation techniques and the use of assistive devices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements by participating in educational workshops, networking with peers, and reviewing relevant literature.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will involve working with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and elderly individuals facing various physical challenges. The therapist will provide care for patients recovering from surgeries, traumatic injuries, chronic illnesses, and other disabilities, focusing on enhancing their mobility and functional independence. Establishing rapport and trust with patients and their families is essential to delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure in Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and documentation software used in the healthcare environment.
  • Ability to adapt and navigate varying patient needs and conditions.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in home care settings or working with geriatric populations is preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including:
