Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse is located in the city of Sitka, Alaska. This position involves assisting with various elective and emergency surgical cases, including abdominal, thoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic, Orthopedics, Vascular, and OB/GYN procedures within an operating room setting. The role requires multi-tasking to ensure timely progression of surgical cases and may include providing after-hour call coverage for nights, holidays, and weekends. Candidates must be licensed in the state of Alaska and bring their license on the first day of work.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska; graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)); 3 years OR circulator experience; experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred; current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; high school diploma or GED; no specific experience requirement.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms
- Additional Information: The position requires a flu vaccine; upon acceptance, travelers are instructed to schedule and mail fingerprints promptly to avoid start date delays; the position has a normal urgency level; the rate should be submitted according to the candidate's skillset and level of experience.
