Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Williston, North Dakota. This role involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal care within a busy unit that includes labor, delivery, postpartum, and ER departments. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; Preferred certifications include ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE.
- Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery or related units; must be able to read and interpret fetal strips, possess critical thinking skills, and follow quality metrics. Experience with travel assignments is preferred.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 0645 to 1915 or 1845 to 0715, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Will float to Medsurg and ER departments as needed. Floating requirements are in place, with priority for permanent staff.
- Responsibilities: Performing patient assessments, vitals, assisting with transfers, managing fetal monitoring strips, and supporting patient care on a locked unit.
- Equipment & Tools: Use of Philips EFM monitors and Meditech electronic medical records.
- Staffing & Operational Notes: Every other weekend and holiday shifts required, with a charge nurse present on each shift. RN staff may be required to titrate drips such as Pitocin, Insulin, Magnesium.
- Dress Code: Maroon scrubs provided by the organization; nurses will change into surgical scrubs upon arrival.
- Orientation: 3 shifts of unit-specific training.
- Additional Attributes: Adaptability, strong critical thinking skills, effective communication.
- Travel and Staffing Policies: RTO (Return to Office) needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission. No full-time, part-time, or PRN staffing with affiliated facilities in the past 12 months.
- Radius Rule: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the location.
