Job Summary:
The registered nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin, within a specialized unit that encompasses Gynecology, Urology, Plastics, and ENT. The role involves providing advanced patient care across diverse specialties, including complex procedures such as flap management and urinary diversions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic environment with a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Location: Madison, WI
- Specialties: Gynecology, Urology, Plastics, ENT
- Shift: Rotating, 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, with weekend rotation. Candidates must be able to start on 06/22/2026 or 07/06/2026.
- Schedule: Day/Night, Sunday - Saturday, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: WI registered nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, BLS certification, two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the relevant specialty, experience with Epic electronic medical record system, and at least a 2 in skill ranking for two out of the four specialties (Gynecology, Urology, Plastics, ENT).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience: Two years of recent acute care experience in the specialty submitted for; EMR proficiency in Epic; verbal and clinical competence in managing surgical drains, continuous bladder irrigation, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with flap management, complex urinary diversions such as neobladder or ileal conduit, and ENT airway management.
- Additional Information: This unit requires proficiency in blood product administration, colostomy and ileostomy management, IV insulin protocols, and telemetry monitoring. The unit cares for adult patients with diagnoses including gynecology oncology, urology with urinary diversions, plastics with gender-affirming surgeries, and ENT with tracheostomies.
