Job Summary:
Outpatient Oncology Infusion Nurse in Brunswick, Maine. This position involves providing outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusion treatments within an outpatient IV therapy setting. Candidates are required to bring their RN (Registered Nurse) license to practice in the state of Maine. The role entails caring for a diverse patient population with an emphasis on quality, patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: RN License to practice in the state of Maine; ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card; minimum of 2 years of experience in infusion nursing.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0715 to 1615, with 40 guaranteed hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: RN license in Maine, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card, Peripheral IV skills, central line care, medication administration, blood transfusions, 2 years of infusion experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration experience.
- Additional Information: No weekend hours; no call requirements. The unit contains 21 infusion spaces with an average daily census of 46 patients. Patient ratios vary from 1:7 to 1:9 depending on treatments. The role requires proficiency with IV pumps. Candidate personality traits include being a self-initiator, reliable, flexible, team-oriented, with good communication skills and a focus on quality care.
- Dress Code: Any scrubs other than hospital-issued scrubs. Unacceptable attire includes hospital-issued scrubs and unprofessional clothing.
