Job Summary:

Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in a general care unit specializing in adult patient care. This position involves working night shifts in an acute care environment, providing direct patient care for a variety of surgical and medical conditions. The role emphasizes bedside reporting, patient safety, and operational excellence within a collaborative team setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. The shifts are primarily from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with scheduled rotations and potential block scheduling if unit needs are met.


• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; licensure to submit; location requirements; and certifications listed above.


• Preferred Qualifications: Surgical experience, post-operative, early ambulation experience, and comfort with first-time travelers.


• Float: Float to medical and telemetry units; assistance with strip interpretation is required in these areas.


• Responsibilities: Provide bedside shift reports, monitor and troubleshoot respiratory equipment (nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow devices), handle occasional titratable drips such as heparin, PCA pump, TPN, and respond to a broad scope of adult medical and surgical diagnoses including total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, bariatrics, and medical overflow patients.


• Additional Notes: The unit maintains a close-knit and positive culture. Scrubs are provided in any color, and a 50-mile radius rule applies. RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract.
