A registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care is needed in Fargo, North Dakota. This position involves providing patient care on a 47-bed medical surgical unit within a large hospital environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MS)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, every other weekend, with EOH (Every Other Weekend Holiday)
- Start Date: July 6, 2026
- Required Qualifications: Active North Dakota or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum of 2 years recent medical surgical experience, working in a hospital with at least 200 beds; trauma center level 2 or higher experience preferred; travel experience required unless multiple years of experience in a large level 1 trauma center; experience with surgical oncology patients preferred but not required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems including EPIC, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry; must have an active license to submit.
- Preferred Qualifications: Surgical oncology experience; prior work with Sanford Health (must have ended at least 6 months prior to submission); Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with day/night rotation, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Nurses will be assigned to the 5 Southeast (SE) unit but may float to other medical surgical units with the same credentialing; local travel rate applies for those living within 80 miles of the facility, with a reduction of $8.00/hour for residents 60-80 miles away; nurses must wear navy blue scrubs; nurse to patient ratios are 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night; a one-day lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor are required; shifts can be canceled with 12-hour notice every 13 weeks.
