Job Summary:

Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves providing patient care on an acute care unit with a focus on medical-surgical patients. The position requires adaptability to unit-specific protocols and a commitment to delivering quality care in a dynamic clinical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, transitioning to a schedule with rotating weekends and holidays as needed, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.


• Required Qualifications: Virginia State RN license, BLS (AHA), NIHSS certification, 2 years of relevant clinical experience, and comprehensive knowledge of medical-surgical patient care.


• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system, familiarity with neurovascular patients, and working within a hospital acuity environment.


• Additional Information: The unit operates under a 50-mile radius rule; all submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license. Blood draws and medication titration, such as Heparin based on APTT results, are part of the clinical responsibilities. The team includes PCTs and a charge RN, with remote telemonitoring via monitors and on-site nurse aides. The unit primarily manages diagnoses like CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and urosepsis among others, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6/7. Scrub color is navy blue, and the patient care setting is acute. The hospital uses an EPIC charting system.
