Job Summary:
Laconia, New Hampshire This healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour shift in a busy acute care setting. The ICU RN will provide critical nursing care, often working independently, with a focus on patient stability, advanced monitoring, and use of specialized equipment. The role involves flexibility across various units, including step-down, medical-surgical, and behavioral health areas, along with the ability to adapt to changing patient acuity levels.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays with every other weekend
- Required Qualifications: Active New Hampshire or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; 2-3 years of ICU experience (or close to 2 years with strong skills), experience with a variety of care, ability to work independently and quickly; Valid drivers license with matching address; Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN); Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred but not required
- Float: Float rotation may be required; including emergency department, step-down, medical-surgical units, and behavioral health (training provided)
- Additional Information: The UC unit may have periods without ICU patients, with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Candidates must include their Request for Time Off (RTO) at the time of submission. First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment. The role involves working with high-tech equipment such as balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Impella devices, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and more.
