About the Company
Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Special Education Teacher for a single opening serving Middle and High School students. In this role, you will lead a SPED Functional Skills classroom, providing research-based, specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique goals of each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
About the Role
You will be responsible for modifying core curriculum, managing behavioral and emotional needs, and fostering a structured, supportive environment that empowers underserved students to succeed.
Responsibilities
- IEP Development & Implementation: Write, implement, and manage annual IEP plans, including current performance levels, measurable goals, and required accommodations.
- Targeted Instruction: Deliver specialized, research-based lessons aligned with school curriculum to meet diverse student needs, interests, and developmental levels.
- Progress Monitoring: Continuously assess student growth, adjusting teaching techniques and offering reinforcement when necessary.
- Collaboration: Schedule and lead team meetings with child study teams, families, and administrators to coordinate comprehensive SPED service delivery.
- Classroom Culture: Maintain a safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment conducive to student engagement and growth.
Qualifications
- License: Active Tennessee (TN) teaching license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Expertise: Strong working knowledge of SPED practices and hands-on experience supporting students with behavioral and emotional disabilities.
- Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to serving underserved youth and aligning with our school's core mission.
Pay range and compensation package
Compensation: $38-$40/hour
