Position Summary
Our General Managers (GMs) play a vital role in driving excellence across quality, cleanliness, financial performance, culture, and hospitality. Energetic and expert hospitality leaders, GMs oversee all front-of-house and kitchen operations at their assigned restaurant. Working closely with their management teams, they set the tone for professionalism, teamwork, empowerment, and excellence.
Leadership & Team Development
- Live and promote 4 Star’s core values: Professionalism, Positive Attitude, Guest First, Quality/Excellence, Teamwork, and Integrity.
- Partner with the Training Manager and Director of Training to evaluate hiring needs and support hourly training programs.
- Develop ongoing education plans tailored to each location.
- Coach and develop Restaurant Managers and management teams through regular feedback and evaluations.
- Facilitate weekly manager meetings covering metrics, operational opportunities, and company initiatives.
- Maintain clear, direct communication with all departments and ensure operational updates reach every level.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations on strategic operational improvements.
- Lead by example, always putting people and guests first.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to develop sales growth strategies.
- Drive cost control through budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management.
- Oversee food and beverage costs, repair and maintenance budgets, and operational efficiencies.
- Conduct quarterly building audits with the Director of Operations, implementing corrective action plans.
- Ensure strict adherence to all 4 Star operational systems—no unauthorized modifications.
- Manage compliance with all relevant health, safety, and labor laws.
- Demonstrate proactive follow-up on financial targets and operational metrics.
Guest Experience
- Maintain strong floor presence as an active coach, observing, engaging, and supporting team members.
- Ensure guest satisfaction through direct interaction and timely resolution of concerns.
- Support kitchen and bar teams to meet target ticket times and service standards.
- Share guest feedback with the team to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 4 years General Manager experience or equivalent leadership in fast-paced, full-service restaurants.
- Extensive Assistant General Manager experience preferred.
- Expertise in P&L management and financial oversight.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with restaurant technology and reporting tools.
- Passionate about hospitality, team development, and results-driven leadership.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout shifts.
- Comfortable working in loud, variable indoor/outdoor environments with potential allergen exposure.
