Position Summary:
As Director of Operations, you will own the field. Your mission: drive elite execution across operations, technician performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability with speed, precision, and zero tolerance for mediocrity. You’ll report directly to executive leadership, managing key performance areas including Field Execution, Team Productivity, Customer Experience, Job Documentation & Closeout, Job Cost Management, Technician Training & Compliance, and AR/Project Closeout Support.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Ops: Mobilize CAT/Large Loss teams within 4 hours, period. Zero excuses.
- Team Performance: Maximize revenue per tech per day. Get crews running hot.
- Customer Experience: Drive 5-star reviews like your life depends on it.
- Job Closeout: Ensure projects are documented, clean, and closed out within 48 hours.
- Profitability: Hit a 75% estimate close rate at target margins. Reduce rework. Nail gross profit.
- Compliance Safety: Oversee documentation completeness, drying logs, photo records, and drive WCOMP Ex Mod improvements.
- Training Retention: Reduce churn. Ramp new hires fast. Build a culture of killers, not clock-punchers.
- Collections AR: Maintain 90% collection rate with <110 DSO. Submit invoice packages clean and on time requirements.
Requirements:
- Background in disaster restoration, mitigation, reconstruction, or other directly related field services REQUIRED for consideration
- Proven success scaling operations from $5-10M to $30-50M in restoration, field services, or fast-paced ops-heavy businesses.
- Experience as a player-coach leader, building strategy and executing it hands-on.
- Tech-savvy, systems-minded, and allergic to chaos.
- Acquisition and integration experience to enable smooth operational integration post-acquisition.
- Strong change management skills to drive cultural and process adoption across growing teams.
- Sales connections within restoration, mitigation, or construction verticals are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel as needed (<40%), with relocation assistance available.
