Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of civil litigation, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, courtroom representation, and post-trial work.
- Conduct and manage legal research, case analysis, and development of litigation strategy.
- Draft and respond to motions, pleadings, and discovery; prepare for and conduct depositions.
- Lead settlement discussions, mediations, and negotiations.
- Attend hearings, trials, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
- Regularly communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide case updates and strategic guidance.
- Stay current with relevant laws, legal trends, and court rulings that may impact cases or clients.
- Work collaboratively with legal teams while also managing cases independently.
- Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid
- Location: Initial onboarding period (first 2 weeks) in-person; hybrid remote thereafter with occasional on-site meetings. Must be local to Southern California.
- Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 annually
- Proven track record of trial litigation, including:
- Jury selection and voir dire
- Selection and management of expert witnesses
- Trial preparation and courtroom advocacy
- Strong command of civil litigation topics, including:
- Government tort liability, personal injury, contract disputes, and public entity defense
- Familiarity with California Superior and U.S. Federal Courts, as well as relevant administrative procedures
- Expertise in legal writing, legal research, and argument development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a collaborative legal team
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
Salary : $200,000 - $225,000
