Position Summary
Swedberg Electric is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand our commercial electrical service and project portfolio. This role is ideal for a true sales professional focused on developing new business, growing strategic accounts, and driving revenue in the commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new commercial electrical opportunities
- Build relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, facility managers, and end users
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, prospecting, and market outreach
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet growth objectives
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and service agreements
- Collaborate with estimating and operations teams during project handoff
- Track opportunities, maintain pipeline activity, and manage CRM reporting
- Represent Swedberg Electric at industry events, association meetings, and networking opportunities
- Support long-term account growth through client retention and repeat business
Qualifications
- 3 years business development or outside sales experience, preferably in construction or electrical services
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction sales cycles
- Proven track record of developing and closing new business
- Ability to build relationships with decision-makers at all levels
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience with estimating or electrical contracting is a plus
