Outside Sales Representative to the Nashville, TN and Surrounding Area
Position Summary
We are looking for a Territory Sales Representative to help us increase sales and address customer needs in the middle TN and southern KY region.
The individual who will fill this role will primarily represent a dedicated line of marking and coding equipment and peripherals for the manufacturing and packaging industries but will also recognize and seek out opportunities to expand into businesses and industries that are currently underserved. The ability to identify customer pain points and offer solutions from all our other product lines is highly preferable.
You won’t be alone! This position is backed by in-house dedicated personnel representing each of our product lines with the expertise and professional team attitude necessary to support our new Outside Sales Rep with whatever is needed to make them as successful as possible.
Ultimately, you will help us grow our customer base and establish our reputation in your region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within assigned territory
- Identify local business opportunities and challenges
- Maintain communication with existing and former customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest
- Communicate with customers to identify pain points and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs
- Walking plant floors, understanding how customers are running product, and figuring out where we can help
- Providing demonstrations with inkjet, laser, thermal, and print-and-apply equipment
- Putting together quotes and proposals for specific customer operations
- Maintain a knowledge base of the product lines available through our company to be able to answer customer questions about features, pricing and additional services
- Cross-sell products, when appropriate
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise post-sale
- Maintain detailed reports of sales call activities including contacts, immediate needs, potential future business, competitor overtures/successes, and any customer or vendor relationship problems within our CRM
- Collaborate with sales representatives from different territories to share best practices and support a cohesive sales approach
- Work closely with salespeople and other internal teams to meet individual and group sales quotas

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- At least 3 years of outside B2B sales experience with marking and coding, packaging equipment, or industrial sales experience
- Some familiarity with CIJ, laser, thermal transfer, or print-and-apply technology is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management
- Computer use competency
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and driven
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
