Crescent Specialty Foods is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team at our food processing facility.
The QA Technician will be responsible for monitoring production activities, verifying food safety and quality requirements, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with company standards, USDA/FSIS requirements, GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, SQF, and applicable food safety regulations.
This is a hands-on, production-floor position that requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and communicating with production employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine QA inspections and monitoring throughout the production process.
- Monitor product temperatures, processing conditions, cooking/chilling processes, and storage conditions.
- Verify production records, CCP/Preventive Control monitoring, pre-operational inspections, sanitation records, and other food safety documentation.
- Conduct GMP and employee hygiene inspections.
- Verify proper product identification, labeling, lot codes, dates, packaging, and traceability information.
- Perform product and process inspections to ensure products meet established specifications.
- Monitor production for potential food safety, quality, and foreign-material concerns.
- Assist with environmental monitoring and sampling programs as assigned.
- Perform verification activities for metal detection and other food safety controls.
- Collect and document product samples as required.
- Verify proper allergen controls and ingredient identification.
- Monitor sanitation activities and report deficiencies.
- Communicate QA concerns immediately to the QA Manager, Food Safety/Quality leadership, and Production Management.
- Maintain accurate and organized QA records.
