Our association client, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a highly organized Freelance Web Content/Taxonomy Specialist to join their team through the end of the year. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 full days onsite per week, with flexibility to choose those days between Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Taxonomy Manager to execute web content updates and enhancements within Drupal, supporting site structure, search functionality, and content discoverability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes on large, data-driven websites and has a sharp eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage web content updates within Drupal, ensuring content is accurately categorized and maintained
- Support site search and taxonomy initiatives, including tagging, wayfinding, and navigation improvements
- Review and analyze search logs to identify common member searches and opportunities to improve search results
- Apply and refine site tagging and taxonomy structures to enhance content findability
- Clean up and maintain taxonomy by collapsing unused terms and performing high-level content audits
- Work with large data sets (tens of thousands of rows) in Excel to support content updates and taxonomy changes
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working in Drupal
- Strong working knowledge of CMS platforms
- Comfort and confidence working with large Excel data sets (10,000 rows)
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment
