Our client is an award-winning, global events company with over three decades of experience delivering complex, large-scale events for brands worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to be the start of a new office expansion. The company's HQ is in London, and they are now opening an Austin office and looking for the team's first two hires. If you are not yet qualified for this role, we are also seeking an Event Manager with a little less experience, so please apply to that posting.

As a full-service agency, this company combine strategy, creative, and production to design and deliver impactful event programs globally. Their work spans conferences, exhibitions, incentives, recognition programs and brand activations, supported by expert event management, digital solutions and delegate management. They deliver events at scale, from immersive brand activations and luxury incentives, to complex events for 20 to 7,000 guests.

They work with clients across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas, spanning sectors including technology, consulting, beauty, hospitality, wealth management and media. Their work is built on long-term partnerships, with some client relationships spanning over 20 years. With a reputation for ambitious, innovative, and high-quality projects delivered around the world, the business has grown organically, giving them a strong
working footprint in both the UK and the US.

The role: Sr. Event Manager

Role Profile
The Sr. Event Manager will play a key role within the Austin office, serving as the primary liaison between the company and their US-based clients. This position ensures seamless communication, alignment with client expectations, and the successful delivery of high-impact events across the U.S. market.

The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex and large-scale events and oversee a medium to large project team, ensuring that all work meets client objectives while upholding the company's creative vision, quality standards, and strategic goals.

This role is central to building and expanding client relationships in the U.S., providing localized insights and tailored event solutions that reflect a deep understanding of the US market. By combining the company's global expertise with local best practices, the Sr. Event Manager will help strengthen the company's presence and reputation in the region.

Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, the Sr. Event Manager will champion excellence, innovation, and sustainability across all projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving business growth, enhancing operational performance, and ensuring every event showcases company's commitment to creativity, quality, and responsible delivery.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership and People Management:

  • To manage a leading and high performing team by providing support where required and ensuring that all staff are provided with clear expectations of their performance. This includes holding regular check-ins, identifying development needs and providing support with their professional growth.
    • Please note: There will not be a team of direct reports to start - outside of the Event Manager - but the plan is to grow the Austin office quickly, which will allow the Sr. Event Manager to build a team of their own
  • Providing support and training to new starters during their first six months as and when required.
  • Work closely with the Group Operations Director and the Head of People & Culture in the recruitment of new staff in line with legislative requirements and best practice.
  • Maintain a commercial and strategic mindset to drive ongoing improvements in company operations and processes.
  • Be a consistent role model and provide appropriate leadership values.

Event Enquiries, Logistics and Operations:

  • Support the company's business expansion in the US by strengthening its presence and unlocking further opportunities for growth and partnership.
  • Provide local insights and tailored solutions to US clients, enhancing the company's reputation for excellence and innovation in event delivery.
  • Responsible for event enquiries - plan, organize, and manage time effectively to complete proposals for specific events and projects within agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare and attend presentations and pitches on behalf of the company when required
  • Manage and lead medium to large-scale events, including conducting inspections and onsite management.
  • Lead on complex events and manage a project team of Project Executives, Senior Project Executives, Project Managers and / or freelancers to ensure effective delivery.
  • Responsible for Event Management - support the planning and management of resources to achieve the successful completion of specific events & projects and working collaboratively as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to produce complex working documents, pre-event and on-site documents involving multiple suppliers.

Post-Event Evaluation:

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement.
  • Gather feedback from clients, attendees, and team members to inform future events.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing event outcomes, including financial performance and client satisfaction.

Client and Stakeholders Relations:

  • Develop and manage client accounts specific to the US market, fostering strong and lasting relationships to drive business growth in the region.
  • Manage portfolio of client accounts, building strong relationships and partnerships while identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth.
  • Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with key partners including key clients, suppliers and partner companies.
  • Develop client briefs and objectives into live experiences, incorporating themes, messaging and brand elements as required.

Supplier and Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate closely with clients and suppliers to ensure all event activities support both client requirements and the company's strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for sourcing, contracting and managing venues, hotels and other suppliers.
  • Liaise with DMC and coordinate ground programme management, including offsite venues, transport and related logistics.
  • Responsible for offsite venue and entertainment selection, including theming and design.
  • Responsible for overseeing the creation, building and management of delegate registration websites on Cvent.
  • Conduct supplier vetting and due diligence checks in collaboration with our Venue Sourcing Manager, ensuring compliance with company standards and requirements.

Finance Management:

  • Responsible for managing and monitoring operational budgets for events, negotiate with clients & suppliers and apply strong commercial awareness to ensure cost- effective delivery.
  • Manage financial control by invoicing clients, maintaining cash flow documents, managing supplier invoices and conducting post-event reconciliation.

General:

  • Manage the development of best business practices and processes ensuring continuous improvements where possible.
  • Maintain reporting procedures including updating the database and the time tracking platform.
  • Attend and actively contribute to all Operations and Seniors Meetings.
  • Maintain working files in order, ensuring all relevant information is filed.
  • Attend familiarization and industry events as and when required.
