Overview of the Role
Our well-known biotech client is seeking a Market Access Strategy expert to join their team! The Senior Manager, Market Access Strategy supports U.S. market access initiatives across the cystic fibrosis (CF) portfolio, ensuring rapid, broad, and sustained access to both established and future medicines. This role develops value-driven payer strategies, manages cross-functional execution, and partners closely with internal teams to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant resources. The role also oversees promotional content development workflows, vendor management, and training support to maintain operational readiness and downstream execution excellence.
The Basics
- Duration: 6 months
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
- Location Requirements: Hybrid in Boston, MA (Seaport District), on-site 3 days per week
Top 3 Required Qualifications
- 8 years of marketing, market access, or agency experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals, with demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic plans and deliver cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience working with Veeva PromoMats, including routing content, managing QC with agencies, and maintaining accurate, timely submissions
- Ability to translate clinical and economic data into compelling payer value messaging tailored to PBMs, specialty pharmacies, payer decision-makers, and other key customers.
Other Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of U.S. payer coverage and reimbursement landscapes, including commercial, government, alternative funding models, CMS policies, and IRA-related considerations.
- Strong vendor and agency management experience with an ability to drive accountability and quality across partners
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience managing promotional materials for legacy or in-line products, including pull-through of label changes and safety information
- Ability to support downstream implications such as training development, timely approvals, and post-approval check-ins
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus
- Industry experience can include in-house pharma or agency-side, particularly in managed markets or market access settings
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute U.S. market access strategies and tactical plans to support CF portfolio operations, new product launches, and label expansions
- Lead initiatives demonstrating clinical, economic, and societal value to payers, formulary committees, and CF centers
- Build and refine payer value stories across channels, ensuring alignment, accuracy, and timely updates
- Manage day-to-day workflow with agencies, including project timelines, QC, content routing, and ensuring promotional materials reflect accurate safety and label information
- Support cross-functional partners (medical review teams, payer teams, marketing, HEOR, public affairs) by delivering timely tools, analyses, and resources
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of training materials and downstream pull-through resources to support field teams
- Support CRM insights, customer-facing talking points, KPIs, and data-driven analysis for ad hoc requests
- Participate in and contribute to planning activities, payer advisory boards, and readiness efforts
- Serve as a subject matter partner on payer dynamics and the evolving market landscape
- Assist with the development of trade materials and work collaboratively with trade and distribution stakeholders
- Support the Access Escalations sub-team to ensure rapid and broad access across newly approved and existing CF treatments
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
