We are in search of a Senior Social Media Manager who would be responsible for leading and governing our client's global social media presence, ensuring a consistent, strategic, and brand-aligned experience across global platforms. This role serves as the owner of the social media ecosystem, responsible for driving and leading social media strategies and governance worldwide, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and brand objectives. As a senior manager, this role works closely with cross-functional partners including Brand & Marketing, Corporate Communications, Customer Service, HR, Legal, and regional teams, along with agency partners to drive effective social media strategies, audience growth, and brand engagement.
Position sits in either Lexington, KY or Cincinnati, OH. This is a hybrid position. If you're located in Lexington, it would be 4 days onsite and 1 remote. Cincinnati would be 1 day onsite in Lexington and 4 days remote.
Global Social Media Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of global social media strategy, ensuring alignment with brand positioning, marketing priorities, and business objectives.
- Own and manage the global social media budget, including planning, allocation, and optimization of spend across platforms, regions, and agency partners to ensure efficient use of resources and maximize return on investment.
- Serve as the strategic owner and custodian of the global social media presence across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, X, TikTok, WeChat, Weibo, and YouTube
- Identify opportunities to grow our client's social community and expand organic reach to strengthen brand visibility and relevance.
Governance & Operational Oversight
- Establish and maintain global social media governance frameworks, policies, and best practices to ensure consistent execution across markets and teams.
- Provide oversight and direction to agency partners responsible for community management, ensuring quality engagement and adherence to brand standards
- Oversee the planning, review, and approval of social content calendars to ensure alignment with global campaigns and brand guidelines.
- Lead a cross-functional editorial board, together with Corporate Communications and key stakeholders to drive cohesive content planning, alignment on priorities, and consistency in messaging across all markets.
Performance & Insights
- Oversee the analysis of social media performance and listening insights to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
- Deliver strategic reporting and insights to internal stakeholders, translating performance data and key learnings into actionable recommendations for improving engagement, reach, and brand impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (BA in Journalism, Marketing, or Communications preferred).
- 10 years of experience in social media marketing and strategy, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading social media strategy across multiple regions or internationally, with a strong understanding of global market nuances and the ability to drive alignment at scale.
- Strong experience with social media tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout, or Hootsuite.
- Familiarity with workflow platforms like Adobe Workfront is a plus.
- Ability to independently manage agency/partner relationships.
- Proven success building and managing social communities and using analytics to drive insights.
- Strong customer service, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
