Our client in the home services space is seeking a REMOTE Junior Graphic Designer to join their growing marketing team. This role will have a specific focus on social media, including creating engaging graphics for various platforms, and posting including other management tasks.
This is an ongoing, freelance role that will be approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will vary based on workload. Highly preferred if a candidate is in PST or CST timezones.
This role is ideal for a designer who is visually driven at their core, with experience translating strong creative into engaging, on-brand social media content. In this role, the Junior Graphic Designer will primarily focus on designing high-quality visual assets that support brand and marketing initiatives, while also helping execute and manage social media content across select brands.
Junior Graphic Designer Responsibilities:
- Create visually engaging graphics for both digital and print mediums, including marketing tool kits, sales sheets, product guides, design guides, event collateral, email, display, and social media creative.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling designs that align with brand identities and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with brand marketing, creative, and social teams to ensure visual consistency, thoughtful storytelling, and a cohesive brand presence across digital touchpoints.
- Assist in the development of layouts, logos, and other design elements.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand standards, including color palettes, typography, logo usage, and overall visual style across print and digital platforms.
- Proof and quality-check all designs for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Design and format social media assets to ensure consistency, clarity, and strong visual presentation across platforms.
- Support social media content execution for two brands in partnership with brand and social teams.
- Assist with daily social media engagement, including monitoring and responding to comments and messages in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
- Help maintain strong community engagement and encourage positive audience interaction.
- Support amplification of user-generated content (UGC) and franchisee content that aligns with national brand standards.
- Monitor social activity and escalate potential issues, sentiment concerns, or reputational risks to internal stakeholders as needed.
Junior Graphic Designer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- 1 years graphic design experience.
- Portfolio with examples of successful content or campaigns and/or links to social channels or content managed.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva.
- Solid understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency across print and digital applications.
- Working knowledge of pre-press requirements and preparation of art files for professional print production.
- Ability to adapt designs for multiple formats and platforms, including web, email, and social media.
- Creative, conceptual thinker with strong attention to detail and an eye for visual storytelling.
- Familiarity supporting or managing social media content for a brand, agency, or multi-brand environment.
- Familiarity with major social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, with a strong understanding of platform-specific creative requirements.
- Experience scheduling and publishing content using tools such as Sprout Social or similar platforms.
- Ability to adapt syndicated or national content into visually engaging, on-brand social assets.
- Basic understanding of social media best practices, including content compliance, image rights, music licensing, and platform guidelines.
- Video and motion experience (e.g., CapCut or similar tools) is a plus, but not required.
