Our client, a leading tech company is looking for an Event Marketing Specialist to support their team open-ended with potential to convert to full time down the line.
This is a hybrid role based in Boston, MA (ideally 2-3 days in office per week), for 40 hours per week.
The client is flexibile while the role is freelance but if converts to fulltime, it will need to be hybrid.
This role is responsible for supporting the execution of the company's B2B event strategy that drives demand, revenue, and brand perception. Partnering closely with the Sr. Manager of Events Marketing, the specialist will manage logistics for a range of events, from industry conferences to client training and networking initiatives, ensuring each event is flawlessly executed and aligned to strategic business goals.
Primary responsibilities:
- Support logistics of events, including their annual conference (both virtual and in person)
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate all contracts
- Monitor upcoming assignments/tasks, ensuring project schedule is being met and changes are addressed
- Communicate across teams to ensure on-time delivery of materials
- Manage event orders, shipment, signage, giveaways, swag, etc.
- Facilitate speaking and sponsorship opportunities to ensure attendees are well-prepared
- Monitor and maintain annual event budgets, submit PO requests and reconcile events budget with actuals
- Travel to events as needed in US and Canada maybe 2-4x a year.
The ideal Event Manager will have:
- 2 years of event experience; any tradeshow/conference B2B experience strongly preferred
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and accurately
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and event management platforms
- Curious and comfortable experimenting with AI-powered tools
- Experience with Salesforce and Cvent a plus
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
