Communications and Marketing Assistant

Position Overview
Our Non-Profit Education client is seeking an Communications and Marketing Assistant! This role is fully onsite near upper Manhattan, 35 hours/week (9-5 with a 1 hour break), for 2 months with the possibility to extend. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the execution of the editorial calendar, including writing, producing, and distributing a regular e-newsletter
• Support the growth of social media channels through content creation, scheduling, posting, community engagement, and performance tracking (key priority)
• Create high-quality content across email, social media, web, and print, ensuring clarity, consistency, and brand alignment
• Collaborate cross-functionally with academic and administrative teams to develop marketing and communications materials
• Ensure consistent brand voice and institutional messaging across all communications channels
• Track, analyze, and report on performance across digital channels to help optimize content strategy (key priority)
• Work closely with the Chief Communications Officer and the broader communications team in a collaborative, onsite environment

Qualifications

• 1 years of experience in content creation, communications, or digital marketing
• Exceptional writing and editing skills; portfolio required
• Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and email marketing campaigns
• Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, fully onsite, team-oriented environment
• Prior experience in higher education, nonprofit, social justice, or other mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
• Familiarity with an artistic, academic, or mission-driven brand voice is a plus

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
