Production Planner

Creare is seeking an experienced professional to be the operational link between Engineering and Manufacturing. This role is designed to offload high-level logistical and technical coordination from the Engineering team, ensuring that the machine shop and technical teams operate at peak efficiency. The Production Planner & Specialist will be responsible for the fabrication lifecycle, from initial planning and material procurement to final assembly oversight.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of internal projects.
• Coordinate with the Fabrication Center Manager (machine shop lead) to prioritize work orders based on project deadlines and machine availability
• Monitor workflow bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules to maintain throughput.

2. Technical Support

• Develop proficiency in Fabrication Center operations to serve as the interim designated lead for daily machine shop activities and workflow as needed.
• Serve as a point of contact for the Creare machine shop, offloading Engineers from routine fabrication and assembly inquiries.
• Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) for completeness and accuracy before they hit the floor.
• Manage technical documentation, ensuring the latest revision of every drawing is in the hands of the machinists.
• Coordinate assembly and calibration tasks that require technical oversight.
• Identify and schedule appropriate inspections to ensure manufactured parts meet Engineering’s design intent.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline tasks.

3. Strategic Material Coordination

• Move beyond simple "parts ordering" to strategic procurement.
• Liaise with external vendors for specialized processes.
• Maintain inventory levels for high-use production consumables.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 5 years in a production, machining, or technical manufacturing environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to read complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical schematics.
• Software: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and project management/scheduling software.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively between engineering and technical teams.
• Problem Solving: Ability to identify bottlenecks and reroute resources effectively.

Starting salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 per year, based on level of education completed, and years of relevant experience.
