What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Teacher position at Crawfordsville Community Schools?
The science teacher is responsible as the primary instructional person in the classroom. Teacher must have strong relationship-building and communication skills and be well-versed in specific content area of science. Teacher also must be able to track student achievement and growth to reflect on practice with continuous professional improvement as a lifetime goal.
Requirements:
- Promotes educational experiences of students in grades 6-8 through developmentally appropriate resources and classroom differentiation
- Promotes active learning through a variety of instructional methods and strategies
- Implements district-approved curriculum maps for the content area of social studies for respective courses teaching
- Collaborate with department teachers and cross-curricular teachers for the improvement of overall instruction
- Develop lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for students to be active learners
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, etc., when necessary
- Supervise middle school students in a variety of settings
- Maintains professional qualities expected of an educator and maintains a continuous learning attitude toward the profession
- Maintain appropriate student records and grading as they relate to school policies and guidelines
- Ability to be either the sole instructor of a classroom setting or co-teach with respective staff members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Certification Requirements:
Valid Indiana Science Teaching License or ability to obtain license
