Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our pediatric therapy team in Naples, FL. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), the COTA will play a key role in delivering play-based, goal-oriented therapy to children with developmental, sensory, fine motor, and self-care challenges. This position helps children build the skills they need for greater independence and participation in everyday activities.
Job Responsibilities: Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising OTR. Provide direct intervention focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor skills, ADLs, and self-regulation. Accurately document therapy sessions, attendance, and observations in accordance with clinic and regulatory guidelines. Communicate regularly with the supervising OTR regarding client progress and treatment adjustments. Collaborate with other professionals, including speech-language pathologists and behavior specialists, during integrated therapy sessions. Support families and caregivers with home programs and activity recommendations, under OTR guidance. Help maintain a safe, clean, and engaging therapeutic environment. Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Active Florida state license to practice as a COTA. Pediatric experience preferred, particularly with autism, developmental delays, or sensory processing challenges. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Passion for working with children in a creative and supportive environment.
Preferred Skills: Familiarity with sensory integration strategies and play-based therapy models. Experience with clinical documentation systems. Flexible, creative approach to therapy delivery. Bilingual ability is a plus.
