Job Summary
As a seasonal Assistant Market Leader, you’ll ensure product freshness, availability, and branded presentation while fostering a customer-first culture with your dedicated team. You’ll manage day-to-day operations, inventory accuracy, and sales trends alongside the Market Leader while leading a team to meet sales goals and maintain high standards for the customer experience. This seasonal position typically runs approximately May to August, making it the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the sweetest part of the year and spread joy along the way!

Whether you're leading your team in operations or executing sales strategies, you'll be at the heart of everything the company does.
Job Responsibilities: Recruiting and Hiring: Oversee pipeline management for seasonal roles. Review, screen, and interview candidates while collaborating with the Market Lead to make offers and hire a team. Marketing and Business partnership: Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant businesses, and community partners to expand knowledge and sales for the company. Team Leadership & Development: Onboard, train, lead, and develop a seasonal team through a customer-centric lens while upholding the company's brand standards. Establish clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback, and hold team members accountable to succeed. Celebrate wins with recognition and collaborate with the Market Leader to issue warnings or performance improvement plans when needed. Scheduling & Planning: Plan schedules in partnership with your Market Lead based on weekly business workload and customer traffic in alignment with company priorities. Create weekly schedules to submit to the Market Lead for approval and posting for the team. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, merchandising, replenishment, safety and compliance, and maintaining a safe environment. Ensure all locations comply with company brand standards and federal, state, and local laws. Driving & Transportation: Drive a rental vehicle to and from stops safely, including transporting passengers and equipment, and monitor traffic requirements to modify stop setups as necessary. Manage incident reporting when needed. Own the Setup: Oversee the setup and teardown of each stop, including organizing tables, tents, and equipment (50 lbs), ensuring everything runs smoothly. Address stop needs (e.g., emergency situations, location issues, regulatory visits) and manage all aspects of location logistics, ensuring operational efficiency. Sales & Market Performance: Understand sales goals, plan, and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on stop-specific sales goals and customer engagement. This includes merchandising, upselling, and leveraging category sales trends to drive business growth. Drive total market sales, understand your role in sales growth, and lead your team to optimize market performance. Reporting & Analytics: Review data and reports to identify business trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Develop business plans and assignments based on observations and report back to leadership. Competition & Market Insights: Assess the competition and leverage insights to drive business objectives. Adapt to changes in unique market trends and adjust strategies as necessary to meet goals.
Qualifications: 21 years of age or older and eligibility to work in the United States in compliance with applicable employment laws. Comfortable with a non-traditional Monday-through-Friday job and a flexible work schedule, including weekends (mandatory in-season, June - August). Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Previous retail leadership experience preferred, but not required. Ability to safely lift 50 pound boxes repeatedly throughout a shift. Ability to work outdoors in various climates. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, showing flexibility, proactiveness, and attention to detail while multitasking. Access to a personal smartphone and adaptability to current technology needs. Ability to work independently without direct supervision at all times and follow instructions. Dedicated to placing the customer experience as the utmost priority, with strong communication skills utilizing positive, customer-focused language, and expertise in customer education, upselling, and cross-selling. Proven ability to mentor and coach team members, holding them accountable. Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, financial, and quantitative analysis. Proficient in managing workload and prioritizing tasks independently.
