What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant School Certifying Official (Part-time) position at Craven Community College?
: The Assistant School Certifying Official provides immediate assistance to veteran students utilizing any Department of Veterans Affairs Educational benefit. This position is primarily located within the Student Center at the main campus.
: - Assists military affiliated students/potential students in applying for VA Education benefits
: Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
One (1) year experience in student services or working with military populations.
Preferred
Military veteran.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
: Knowledge
: - Assists military affiliated students/potential students in applying for VA Education benefits
- Tracks VA educational benefits awarded
- Processes veterans affairs applications
- Works closely with the Student Accounts Office on VA Educational benefits payable to the College and ensures proper procedures for the charging of these students
- Produces reports on the number of veterans served, educational benefits received and other necessary information for end of year reports
- Verifies official last date of attendance of any VA student who withdrawals or is automatically withdrawn from classes
- Reviews registration for all students utilizing VA Educational benefits and certifies/amends enrollment certifications in Enrollment Manager
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the Colleges mission, core values and goals
