Key Responsibilities
Project Management Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Coordinators supporting multi-site material lifting system installations
- Standardize project management processes, tools, and reporting across the organization
- Drive effective planning, scheduling, budgeting, and margin management across all projects
- Ensure disciplined execution of milestones, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
- Oversee project portfolio prioritization and resource allocation
- Direct all installation activities, including scheduling, staffing, and execution strategy
- Determine optimal labor mix (internal vs. subcontracted) based on cost, capacity, and project complexity
- Build and manage a high-performing network of subcontract installation partners
- Ensure OSHA compliance and safety. Maintain installation quality, consistency, and adherence to engineered specifications
- Align project timelines with crew availability, logistics, and site readiness
- Monitor field productivity, labor utilization, and installation cycle times
- Implement workforce planning strategies to balance backlog and capacity
- Ensure proper coordination of materials, tooling, and equipment to job sites
- Own project P&L performance, including revenue, cost control, and gross margin
- Approve budgets, labor plans, and subcontractor spend
- Drive accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and change order management
- Identify opportunities to improve margins through operational efficiency and vendor management
- Negotiate scopes of work, pricing, and service agreements with subcontractors
- Establish performance expectations and accountability metrics
- Resolve escalations related to vendor performance or project execution
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to align on scope, timelines, and execution strategy
- Provide installation insights during pre-sale and project kickoff phases
- Collaborate with Procurement and Logistics to ensure material availability
- Serve as the senior escalation point for key accounts and complex projects
- Ensure proactive communication regarding project status, risks, and timelines
- Drive consistent project closeout, including commissioning, documentation, and turnover
- Build a high-performance, accountable culture across project management and field teams
- Establish clear KPIs and performance expectations
- Support training, development, and succession planning initiatives
Experience
- 10 years of experience in project management, field operations, or installation leadership within industrial equipment, construction, or material handling environments
- Proven success managing both internal teams and subcontracted labor
- Experience leading multiple Project Managers and complex project portfolios
- Strong understanding of material lifting systems, rigging practices, and installation methods
- Expertise in project scheduling, cost control, and execution methodologies
- Demonstrated financial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Experience negotiating and managing vendors and subcontractors
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate effectively across office and field environments
