What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title Clerk position at Crain Automotive?
Prepare, verify, and submit all documentation needed to process vehicle titles, registrations, and lien filings for new and used vehicles.
Review sales contracts, bills of sale, and supporting paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Process DMV paperwork, including title applications, transfers, temporary tags, and registration renewals.
Maintain communication with state agencies (DMV, tag offices, lienholders) to resolve title issues or discrepancies.
Track the status of outstanding titles and follow up with customers, banks, or other dealerships as needed.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all title and registration transactions.
Prepare daily reports and reconcile title records with dealership systems (DMS).
Provide customer service to buyers regarding title questions and tag status.
Support F&I and sales teams by ensuring timely paperwork processing.
Maintain compliance with dealership policies, legal requirements, and state-specific title regulations.
Previous dealership or DMV/title-processing experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills (with customers, internal staff, and state agencies).
Familiarity with dealership management systems (e.g., Reynolds) is a plus.
Proficient with computers and office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of administrative, automotive, or title-processing experience preferred.
Full-time, on-site position within a dealership office setting.
