CNC Machinist

Job Description:
Craftsmen Contractors is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our structural steel fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC equipment used in the structural steel industry, including angle lines and pipe burn tables. This position is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce structural steel components to specification.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines including angle line and pipe burn table
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and layout drawings
• Set up machines, load material, and monitor production
• Ensure parts are produced to specification and quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares
• Follow all shop safety procedures
• Work with shop foreman and fitters to meet production schedules

Requirements:

• Experience operating CNC machinery in a structural steel or metal fabrication shop
• Experience with angle line machines and pipe burn tables required
• Ability to read structural steel blueprints
• Basic computer skills for CNC controls
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a shop environment (heat, noise, dust)
• Reliable transportation and good attendance
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with beam line, plasma table, or drill line
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• OSHA 10 certification
