Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Macomb, Mi
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills / lathes, 2 axis thru 9 axis machines to manufacture firearm components with precision and accuracy.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Program CNC equipment using CAM software and or at the controller to produce complex geometries and contours.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
- Minimum 3 years proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment, preferably in firearms or related industries.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including experience with CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, Esprit, Bobcam, Solidworks).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials used in firearms manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
- Understanding of Quality control and inspection of parts to ensure high quality parts.
- Attention to detail and precision craftsmanship with a focus on producing high-quality parts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to CNC machining operations.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
