What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at CP Unlimited?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Program Operations, conducts safe, prompt and professional operation of the agency vehicle.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Operate agency vehicle to escort staff and clients to assigned destination for appointment services
- Transport, pick up and deliver documents and materials to indicated or scheduled destinations
- Maintain a weekly schedule of driving assignments for shelter sites
- Must perform Pre/Post trip vehicles inspections and report findings to Director of Program Operations
- Conduct daily inspections for vehicle operation, safety and maintenance at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Complete daily and weekly vehicle inspection reports
- Be prompt to resolve any potential operational, safety, or maintenance problems with the vehicle.
- Assist the Director of Program Operations with Residential Aide tasks as needed.
- Able to assist multiple CPU programs as needed
- Maintain good working relationships with staff and clients at the facility
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Program Operations
- Maintain driver licenses with good standards.
Maintain the vehicle by making sure it's clean during the Schedule shift. Complete and submit at the end of the shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to interact with clients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
- Excellent and professional interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the New York City area.
- Prior experience driving a commercial vehicle.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification required and to be obtained within three months
- NARCAN Certification onsite training.
- CPR/Fist Aid Training.
- Works in inclement weather. Temperature extremes 10° - 100°.
- Must lift a maximum of 60 lbs.
