Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable truck operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers. This role involves transporting non hazardous waste safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The operator will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the freight during transit.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of trucks, including roll off trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trailers, and vacuum trucks
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklifts or other equipment when required.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate record, including logs for hours driven and mileage.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to commercial driving.
- Ensure the truck is kept clean and well-maintained.
Experience
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
- Assist on various projects in all aspects of the scope of work.
