Covia is looking for a dynamic Heavy Equipment Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Cleburne, TX location.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as front‑end loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers to move sand, overburden, and aggregate.
- Comply with applicable MSHA Regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and procedures applying to the worker or person that are part of a safety and health management system for the site.
- Comply with provided instructions for safety and health of supervision at the site.
- Adhere to site procedures and instructions given by management.
- Load material into hoppers, trucks, and conveyors while maintaining proper feed rates.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain clean, organized stockpiles and safe roadways throughout the plant.
- Assist with routine plant maintenance, cleanup, and other labor tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and site traffic rules.
- Communicate with plant operators, supervisors, and team members to support smooth production flow.
- Work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience within mining operations (preferably sand).
- Prior exposure to an understanding of operational equipment in sand.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
- Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver set targets.
