The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies relevant to its operations, products, and services. This position will monitor regulatory changes, maintain compliance documentation, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure continuous adherence to all regulatory and customer requirements, including document and the information required by Customers.

Job Summary
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies relevant to its operations, products, and services. This position will monitor regulatory changes, maintain compliance documentation, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure continuous adherence to all regulatory and customer requirements, including document and the information required by Customers
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate relevant federal, state, and international regulations applicable to the company’s operations and products.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Support new product introductions by verifying compliance with environmental, safety, and chemical regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, IMDS, Prop 65, TSCA, etc.).
- Prepare and submit required regulatory documentation, reports, and certifications to government agencies and customers.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies, certification organizations, and external auditors.
- Train and support internal teams on compliance-related topics, policies, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, regulatory filings, and communications.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, quality, and legal teams to ensure supplier and product compliance.
- Track and communicate changes in laws or standards that may impact company operations or products.
- Responsible for the preparation, with the authority to ensure compliance, of the submission of PPAP/ISIR documents in accordance with customer requirements. Works with the relevant Product Manager, OEM Sales Manager and OEM Project Coordinator to obtain necessary documents and schedules.
- Assist Product Manager in ISIR submittals.
- Responsible for coordinating with purchasing department personnel/vendors in maintaining raw material composition data.
- Responsible for reporting compositions, as required by customers, and appropriate product labeling requirements.
- Work with PQP team in completion of all APQP activities
- Responsible for maintaining records of document control system including instructions, flowcharts, procedures and associated records to ensure compliance.
- Having the authority to assure annual customer requirements are scheduled and accomplished through the audit process.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing feedback to management on issues of relevance. Ø Work with QA Manager and QA Supervisors to maintain compliance with customer requirements.
- Professional written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company and its customers/suppliers.
- Entry of inspection/defect data into databases, preparing charts and distributing to the appropriate department.
- There may be additional responsibilities not listed but required by the position as deemed necessary by Quality Manager.
Authority:
- All personnel are responsible for quality and therefore have the authority to stop production, if necessary to solve quality problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Legal Studies, Engineering, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality systems, or product stewardship (industry-specific experience preferred).
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, etc.).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and regulatory database systems (e.g., IMDS, SCIP, CDX).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in compliance or quality (e.g., CCEP, RAC, or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor).
- Experience with audits or regulatory inspections.
- Knowledge of product safety and environmental regulations in multiple regions (e.g., U.S., EU, Asia).
