Responsibilities
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and sanitation procedures.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, chemical handling, and equipment use.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment; place orders as needed to ensure seamless operations.
- Enforce safety data sheet (SDS) compliance and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations related to chemical agents and manual handling.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public spaces to verify cleanliness, sanitation, and overall presentation.
- Handle guest inquiries or complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, incident reports, and safety procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial roles within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including vacuuming, floor cleaning, and maintenance of various flooring types.
- Expertise in chemical agent handling, sanitation standards, and the safe operation of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and conduct manual handling tasks efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward guest interactions.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and guests.
- Competence in managing janitorial supplies inventory and understanding safety data sheets (SDS).
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team of housekeeping professionals.
