What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Part-time: Instructor HVAC position at County?
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with the approved curriculum on a daily basis.
- Develop lesson plans that support student learning outcomes and workforce readiness.
- Organize and maintain instructional materials, tools, equipment, and supply inventories.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, including grading and attendance tracking.
- Provide timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on student performance, behavior and participations.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry standards, laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, and integrate this knowledge into daily instruction.
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student behavior and instructional progress.
- Model professionalism, reliability, and respect to contribute to a positive school culture.
- 5 years of experience in the field.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, complete student evaluations and document student progress.
- Strong verbal communication skills for classroom instruction and student engagement.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Field-related license/certification including, but not limited to, a minimum of OSHA 10 and EPA 608 certification. A New Jersey Master HVACR Contractor license is preferred.
- This position requires mobility throughout the campus.
- Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while teaching in a classroom and lab settings.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move HVAC-related equipment or training materials up to 50lbs.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools and training equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and reach when demonstrating equipment installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
This position is 16 hours per week and includes a 4‑hour instructional block, which may be assigned during the daytime or evening based on departmental needs. Final teaching assignments may vary, as the schedule is flexible and may include day or evening instruction.
Training is located at Camden County Technical School – 343 Berlin Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville, NJ.
