Nevada County is seeking an experienced Accountant for the Health and Human Services Agency Administration to support the Fiscal Unit for the Social Services, Veteran’s Services and Child Support Services departments. Our accountants perform professional accounting including:
- Preparation and review of journal entries
- Review and approval of AP batches
- Monitoring and analysis of revenues and expenditures
- Grant claims and grant report preparation
- Gathering of data for a variety of financial reports requiring the application of accounting principles and judgment
- Analysis of financial system reports to verify information, and making decisions on next course of action
- Grant budgets and County budget preparation and monitoring
- Complex cost allocations and payroll processing
Accountants are an integral part of the Agency's fiscal team, whose mission is to protect lives, promote health and wellness, and provide support and services to help Nevada County residents meet their basic needs. The Accountant classification is intended for individuals who have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting or a related field, and one year of applicable experience. If you have additional experience of more than 2 years, that's a plus!

Salary : $67,953 - $82,956
