The Senior Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of Mono County's senior services programs in the Walker/Coleville and Bridgeport areas, helping ensure older adults have access to nutritious meals, transportation, social engagement, information and referrals, and other essential support services. This position manages senior center operations, supervises staff and volunteers, coordinates community outreach, oversees meal and nutrition programs, and ensures compliance with state and local program requirements. Working with a high degree of independence, the Senior Services Supervisor plays an important role in enhancing the health, independence, and quality of life of older adults throughout the community.

Mono County's Senior Services team is dedicated to supporting older adults by providing programs that promote independence, wellness, and meaningful community connections. Through nutrition services, transportation, outreach, wellness programs, volunteer engagement, and resource referrals, the team helps seniors remain active, healthy, and connected to the communities they call home. Staff work closely with local organizations, volunteers, caregivers, and partner agencies to deliver compassionate, reliable services while fostering welcoming senior centers that serve as gathering places for recreation, education, and support.

They possess strong supervisory skills and are comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, from overseeing nutrition programs and center operations to coordinating volunteers, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with program regulations. Mono County, Located in California’s Eastern Sierra

Mono County is a rural region with a dynamic community of 13,000 residents located in the eastern side of California’s Sierra Nevada range. Development is increasing in the area due to the consistent growth of the town of Mammoth Lakes. Training and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: 
Three years of previous work experience in overseeing activities in a group setting or quantity food preparation, preferably with a senior population.
 
Special Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Possession of a valid Food Safety Manager Certification, or the ability to obtain such within 12 months of hire.
 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; stoop, kneel, and crouch to pick up or move objects and kitchen equipment; physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. without assistance and from 25-50 lbs. with assistance;  normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; uses ovens, steamers, mixers, slicers, choppers, steam tables, and food transporters; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, calculator, copiers, and FAX, safely drive a vehicle for delivery of food.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a kitchen and office environment; exposure to heat and electrical energy; work is performed in an environment with constant noise; work is performed around equipment with moving parts; some exposure to chemicals, cleaning solutions, and bleaches; regular exposure to moisture and wetness; work requires driving in various weather conditions; continuous contact with other staff and the public.

Salary : $78,649 - $95,598
