As an advanced trainee, receives instruction in basic information systems analysis; performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult that do not require the services of a fully trained Information Technology Specialist; and performs other related duties as required.Examples of Duties:

Attends and participates in training and discussion sessions;
Performs and reports on required reading;
Receives orientation on County programs, record-keeping and reporting systems, machine capabilities, and management needs for information;
Participates in computer hardware installation activities to learn computer operations, coding, diagramming, and programming;
Drafts and tests selected segments of programs;
Assists in information systems implementation including setting up data libraries, files, directories, job procedures, backup end recovery procedures, etc.;
Assists higher level analysts in defining and analyzing data on specific projects, reviewing the requirements documentation with the user to determine validity or to determine if adjustments are needed;
Keeps appropriate work records;
May assist in providing technical and systems support to users via the computer system and personal computers;
May assist and/or participate in the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local area networks;
Accompanies a higher-level analyst on interviews and meetings as on observer, aids in the performance of data collection during such field trips; and
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Training & Experience:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree, and
one (1) year of specialized work experience.
Qualifying Specialized Work Experience:
Professional work experience in IT which include work in the areas of user and systems requirements and analysis, applications development and maintenance, computer systems support, network design and maintenance, and/or data/database analysis/administration.
License Requirement : Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent).
