*** THIS IS AN OVERNIGHT/RESIDENTIAL POSITION MONDAY-FRIDAY THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER CAMP SEASON ***

Recreation Assistants work within an 8-member team. This team is cross-trained for all camp-related daytime activities. Activities include but are not limited to: arts & crafts, target sports, sports and fitness, adventure, waterfront, media, nature, and performance arts. Additionally, Activity Specialists are cross-trained in group and evening program activities including talent show, dance party, camper recognition ceremony, and others. While utmost importance lies in the setup and implementation of camp activities, the team also plays the primary role in fulfilling the operational needs of camp including cleaning, general maintenance, and camp beautification. Activity Specialists are encouraged to complete their work with a positive attitude, provide encouragement to campers participating in activities, and provide reinforcement and support to the Cabin Counselors.

Qualifications: 18 years old & high school diploma or GED. Willingness to obtain lifeguard and possibly other (i.e. Archery) certifications.
Must be able to begin working May 11, 2026. Work weeks begin Monday mornings at 7:30 am and end Fridays by 1:00 pm. The pay rate is $534/week ($5,348.00 for the 10-week season).

Camp Spearhead began in 1968 to provide recreation for children and adults with disabilities. Summer camp allows the opportunity to nurture friendships, maintain socialization skills and provide respite for families.
